DataNova Analytics is seeking a highly skilled Applied Statistics Specialist to join our growing analytics team in Boston. You will design and execute rigorous statistical analyses, build predictive models, and translate complex results into actionable business insights for cross functional stakeholders. This role offers the opportunity to work on high impact projects across finance, marketing and product analytics.
As a key member of the data science group, you will collaborate with data engineers and data scientists to ensure data quality, reproducibility, and scalable methodologies that drive strategic decisions.
Responsibility
- Lead end to end statistical analyses for business challenges from problem framing to results delivery
- Develop and validate predictive models using linear and nonlinear methods, time series, survival analysis, and Bayesian approaches
- Design experiments and A/B tests with power calculations and robust inference
- Clean, explore, and interpret complex datasets with strong data governance and reproducibility
- Present insights to stakeholders with clear visualizations and executive summaries
- Mentor junior analysts and collaborate with data engineering to ensure data quality and reproducibility
Qualification
- Master or PhD in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics or a related field
- 5+ years of hands on experience in applied statistics within industry or academia
- Proficiency in R and Python with experience in libraries for statistics and ML
- Strong knowledge of experimental design, hypothesis testing, regression, GLMs, and time series
- Experience with Bayesian methods and probabilistic programming is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex results to non technical audiences
- Familiarity with SQL and data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
