Join Cargill as a Contract Specialist supporting the Palm business in Medan. In this role, you will coordinate and plan import and export processes for palm products, manage customs documentation, and ensure compliance with local and international regulations across our supply chain. Working under direct supervision, youâll partner with procurement, logistics, legal, and regulatory teams to streamline contract execution, minimize risk, and drive efficiencies in a fast-paced manufacturing and logistics environment.
As a Contract Specialist, you will contribute to the lifecycle of contracts from drafting and negotiation through execution and renewal. You will act as a bridge between internal stakeholders and external partners, including vendors and customs authorities, ensuring timely clearance and accurate documentation while optimizing costs and lead times. Responsibility
- Coordinate end-to-end import and export operations for palm products, ensuring timely processing and accurate documentation.
- Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts, amendments, and renewals in alignment with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Manage customs documentation and clearance processes, working with customs brokers and authorities to minimize delays.
- Collaborate with internal teams (procurement, logistics, finance, compliance) to ensure contract terms align with business goals and compliance standards.
- Maintain contract lifecycle management, tracking milestones, obligations, and renewal dates using company systems (ERP/SRM).
- Identify and mitigate contractual and regulatory risks; implement compliant processes and controls.
- Assist in vendor and stakeholder communications, performance tracking, and dispute resolution support.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize efficiency, cost control, and risk reduction in import/export activities.
Qualification
- Bachelorâs degree in Law, Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Proven experience in contract management, preferably in logistics, import/export, or manufacturing sectors.
- Solid knowledge of Indonesian import/export regulations and customs procedures.
- Experience with contract lifecycle management, negotiation, and vendor management.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, fluent in English; Bahasa Indonesia proficiency required.
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and MS Office; experience with SAP or similar systems is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
