Impact Forward Foundation is a mission driven nonprofit dedicated to empowering communities through education and opportunity. We are seeking a strategic Development Director to lead our fundraising program, build durable donor relationships, and scale impact.
In this role you will partner with senior leadership to craft a data driven fundraising strategy, set ambitious annual goals, and steward a growing portfolio of supporters. You will inspire a team and collaborate across programs to ensure our messaging aligns with our mission and outcomes.
Responsibility
- Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive fundraising strategy to meet and exceed annual revenue goals.
- Cultivate and steward relationships with major donors, foundations, corporations, and civic partners.
- Oversee donor communications, annual giving campaigns, and timely stewardship reporting.
- Develop and manage the development budget, metrics, and reporting for transparency and accountability.
- Manage a high performing development team and collaborate across programs, marketing, and finance.
- Write persuasive grant proposals and coordinate submissions to foundations and government partners.
- Plan and execute engaging donor events and digital campaigns to expand the supporter base.
- Use data analytics to refine strategies, track progress, and optimize campaigns for impact.
Qualification
- Bachelor degree in nonprofit management, marketing, communications, or related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years in fundraising, development, or donor relations with a proven track record of securing gifts and grants.
- Demonstrated success in major gifts, grant proposals, and annual giving programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with storytelling ability and persuasive proposal writing.
- Strong experience with CRM systems (preferably Salesforce Nonprofit) and data analysis to inform strategy.
- Strategic planning, project management, and the ability to lead cross functional teams.
- Commitment to social impact and ability to work in Washington DC area with occasional travel.
