We are seeking a creative and client-focused Hair Stylist to join our premier salon in New York City. The ideal candidate combines technical excellence in cuts, color, and texture with warm, personalized service. As part of our team, you will consult with clients, propose looks, perform high-quality styling, color services, smoothing treatments, and finish with precision styling. You will also maintain salon cleanliness, sanitation, and inventory, and contribute to a positive, collaborative atmosphere.
Responsibility
- Provide high-quality haircutting, styling, and coloring services for diverse clients including men, women, and children.
- Consult with clients to determine goals and educate on care and products.
- Execute color services such as balayage, highlights, and permanent color with precision and safety.
- Perform styling finishes including blowouts, updos, formal styles, and texture services.
- Maintain exceptional sanitation, tool sterilization, and client station organization.
- Build and maintain client relationships to drive repeat business and referrals.
- Collaborate with colorists and other stylists to deliver cohesive looks.
Qualification
- Valid cosmetology or barber license in New York or ability to obtain.
- 2+ years of professional styling experience in a salon environment.
- Strong knowledge of color theory, products, and techniques including balayage, foiling, and color correction.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and maintain high sanitation standards.
- Proficiency with modern styling tools and equipment, including flat irons, curling irons, and diffusers.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
