Job description

RadiantWaves Media is seeking a dynamic Lead Broadcast Producer to helm live and taped productions in a fast-paced studio environment in Los Angeles. The role blends editorial collaboration with technical leadership to deliver high-quality on-air and streaming content.

As a key member of the production team, you will oversee daily newscasts, special events, and post-production workflows, ensuring accuracy, timing, and audience engagement. You will lead a diverse crew, coordinate with editors, directors, journalists, and technical operators, and drive a culture of safety, quality, and innovation.

What you'll do includes strategic planning, talent mentorship, vendor coordination, and hands-on problem solving under deadline pressure. If you thrive on shaping stories, optimizing production pipelines, and delivering broadcast excellence, we'd like to meet you.

Responsibility

  • Lead end-to-end production for daily newscasts and live events, from concept to broadcast.
  • Direct a multi-disciplinary crew including directors, producers, editors, graphics, and technical operators.
  • Collaborate with editorial teams to shape story angles, rundowns, and on-air graphics.
  • Oversee technical elements including switching, audio, camera operations, graphics, replay, and streaming encoders.
  • Manage production calendars, risk assessments, and contingency plans for breaking news.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, quality controls, and safety protocols.
  • Optimize post-production workflows and manage vendor relationships and equipment lifecycle.
  • Mentor and develop talent, deliver constructive feedback, and promote a culture of excellence.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in broadcasting, communications, media arts, or related field; or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years in broadcast production with hands-on experience in live TV or major event coverage.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and teamwork skills; adept at managing high-pressure deadlines.
  • Strong working knowledge of broadcast automation, switching, graphics, audio, and streaming workflows.
  • Familiarity with FCC rules, safety regulations, and compliance best practices.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and overtime as required by live programming.
  • Portfolio of produced segments or live broadcasts demonstrating storytelling and technical execution.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard editing and graphics tools (e.g., Avid, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
