Responsibility
- Oversee daily livestock care, feeding, and handling activities for cattle, swine, and/or poultry.
- Develop and implement herd health management protocols, including vaccination and biosecurity measures.
- Manage farm staff, including recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.
- Monitor breeding, calving, and animal welfare, ensuring high standards of animal health.
- Maintain accurate production and health records in compliance with state/federal regulations.
- Coordinate procurement of feed, equipment, and supplies within budget constraints.
- Implement best practices for pasture management, housing, and environmental sustainability.
- Collaborate with veterinarians, nutritionists, and agribusiness partners to drive productivity.
Qualification
- Bachelorâs degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 3 yearsâ experience in livestock management (beef, dairy, swine, or poultry).
- Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of herd health, nutrition, breeding, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency with digital farm management records and equipment operation.
- Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to seasonal demands.
- Valid driverâs license; farm machinery operation preferred.
- Commitment to animal welfare and sustainable farming principles.
