PrairieEdge Farms is seeking a skilled Livestock Farm Manager to lead daily operations at our Ames, Iowa facility. As Farm Manager, you will oversee all aspects of livestock production, including care, housing, nutrition, breeding, and record-keeping. You will work closely with veterinarians, extension services, and suppliers to maintain high welfare standards and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibility
- Oversee daily care, welfare, and health monitoring of all livestock, ensuring adherence to welfare standards.
- Plan and implement nutrition and feed programs in collaboration with veterinarians or nutritionists.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, training, and performance to ensure smooth farm operations.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, reproduction, births, vaccinations, treatments, and mortality.
- Enforce biosecurity, animal welfare standards, and compliance with local regulations.
- Monitor equipment, facilities, and safety; supervise maintenance and repairs on housing and fencing, feeders, and water systems.
- Coordinate with veterinarians, extension services, and suppliers; drive continuous improvement in productivity and efficiency.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent experience.
- 3-5+ years of livestock farm management experience with a track record of team leadership.
- Knowledge of welfare standards, nutrition basics, and health management for livestock.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with farm management software, basic budgeting, and data analysis.
- Physical ability to perform field duties and operate farm equipment; valid driver's license.
