Join our elite Nautical Operations team as a Maritime Navigation Specialist. You will apply advanced navigation analysis, vessel routing, weather routing, and voyage optimization to support safer, more efficient shipping operations. This role combines rigorous data analysis with practical on-board coordination to deliver actionable guidance for masters and operations teams.
As part of our global logistics network, you will work with state-of-the-art navigation systems and weather models, contributing to multi-vessel voyage planning, port calls, and risk management. Responsibility
- Analyze vessel positions and voyage plans using ECDIS, ARPA, AIS, and real-time tracking tools.
- Develop and optimize routes considering weather, tides, currents, traffic, and port constraints.
- Monitor voyage progress, provide real-time navigational advisories to masters and operations teams.
- Conduct risk assessments for navigational changes and contingency planning.
- Collaborate with bridge teams, pilots, port authorities, and shore-side operations to ensure safe arrivals.
- Ensure compliance with SOLAS, COLREGs, MARPOL, and applicable regional regulations.
- Prepare comprehensive voyage reports, debriefs, and continuous improvement of navigation procedures.
- Mentor junior navigators and contribute to training programs.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Marine Transportation, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
- Professional navigator certification or equivalent maritime license.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in maritime navigation, voyage planning, and offshore/ocean-going operations.
- Proficiency with ECDIS, ARPA, AIS, weather routing tools, and voyage optimization software.
- Strong understanding of COLREGs, SOLAS, and international safety standards.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and crisis-management skills.
- Ability to work in rotating shifts, high-pressure environments, and cross-cultural teams.
- Analytical mindset with attention to data quality, reporting, and continuous improvement.
