Job description

NovaMach Industrial Services is seeking a skilled Mechanic Technician to join our maintenance team in Houston. This role focuses on diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining complex industrial equipment across multiple sectors including manufacturing, packaging, and process industries. In this role you will work on mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, drives, and electrical interfaces, collaborating with a cross-functional team to minimize downtime and optimize equipment uptime.

Responsibility

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical systems on industrial equipment, including gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, and motors.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and inspections to maximize uptime and safety.
  • Diagnose hydraulic and pneumatic systems; replace seals, hoses, actuators, and fittings.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and OEM manuals to guide repairs.
  • Calibrate and test equipment; verify repairs and document work in CMMS.
  • Troubleshoot failures, identify root causes, and implement lasting fixes.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area; participate in safety programs and audits.
  • Assist in project installations, equipment upgrades, and commissioning activities.

Qualification

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as a mechanic or technician in industrial settings.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, belts, bearings, gears, plus hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and OEM manuals.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools, torque wrenches, multimeters, and basic electrical testing.
  • Welding experience (MIG/TIG) preferred; aptitude for fabrication and metalworking.
  • Willingness to work across shifts, in confined spaces, and at heights as needed.
  • Commitment to safety, with OSHA 10/OSHA 30 or equivalent certification preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical trade school or certificate recommended.
