Responsibility

  • Provide strategic direction for museum operations, including facilities, security, admissions, and visitor services.
  • Collaborate with curatorial and education teams to plan exhibitions, public programs, and community engagement initiatives.
  • Develop and manage the annual budget, financial forecasting, and revenue diversification (fundraising, sponsorships, memberships).
  • Oversee collections stewardship, cataloging, conservation coordination, loan agreements, and deaccession processes in line with best practices.
  • Lead digital initiatives, data analytics, and marketing partnerships to broaden audience reach.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, legal, ethical, and governance standards; manage risk and safety protocols.
  • Recruit, develop, and mentor a high-performing team; implement DEI initiatives and professional development.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with donors, sponsors, educational institutions, government bodies, and cultural organizations.

Qualification

  • Master's degree in museum studies, arts management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 7 years of progressively responsible museum or cultural organization leadership experience.
  • Proven track record in fundraising, grant writing, sponsorship development, and donor relations.
  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Solid understanding of collections management, conservation, loans, and ICOM guidelines.
  • Experience with digital transformation, audience development, and contemporary museum practices.
