Responsibility
- Perform all notarial acts in accordance with California Notary Law, including acknowledgments, jurats, oaths, and copy certifications.
- Verify applicant identity using approved methods and maintain accurate notary journals and records.
- Prepare, complete, and affix notarial certificates with precision and compliance.
- Coordinate in-person and mobile signings, managing schedules to meet client deadlines.
- Provide exceptional customer service, explaining documents, fees, and signing requirements clearly.
- Protect client confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Maintain knowledge of evolving notary laws, privacy regulations, and ethical standards.
Qualification
- Active California Notary Public commission in good standing.
- Minimum 2 years of practical notary experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of California notary laws, ethics, and procedure.
- Proficiency with notary management software, scheduling tools, and digital certificates.
- Excellent communication, organization, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and handle confidential information.
- Valid government-issued photo ID and access to a reliable form of transportation for mobile signings.
- Errors and Omissions (E&O) insurance or willingness to obtain coverage.
