Responsibility
- Develop and execute a strategic plan for annual performing arts programming, balancing artistic vision with audience development and financial sustainability.
- Oversee production cycles from concept to premiere, including budgeting, scheduling, contracts, and risk management.
- Lead casting and talent development, cultivating relationships with local artists, ensembles, and emerging creators.
- Drive fundraising efforts, including grant writing, donor cultivation, sponsorships, and grant reporting.
- Build and nurture partnerships with venues, schools, cultural organizations, and community groups.
- Direct a high-performing production team, including stage managers, technicians, and administrative staff.
- Ensure inclusive, accessible programming and operations aligned with DEI principles.
- Monitor program metrics and prepare regular reports for the board and funders.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in arts administration, theater, dance, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressive leadership experience in performing arts organizations or similar settings.
- Strong track record in fundraising, grant writing, and donor relations achieving measurable results.
- Advanced budgeting, financial planning, and operational management skills.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
- Thorough knowledge of current trends in performing arts production, marketing, and audience development.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in programming and staffing.
- Experience navigating venue relationships, licensing, and union contracts is a plus.
