GreenFields AgroTech is seeking a driven Precision Agriculture Technician to join our California team. Based in Davis, CA, you will bridge field operations with data-driven insights to optimize crop yields while reducing water and input use.
As a member of our agritech group, youâll work alongside farmers, agronomists, and data scientists to deploy, monitor, and optimize technology-driven farming solutions that deliver measurable ROI.
Responsibility
- Implement and optimize precision agriculture practices across multiple fields using drones, soil sensors, and IoT devices.
- Collect, clean, and analyze field data to inform irrigation, fertilization, and pest management decisions.
- Collaborate with agronomists to develop site-specific crop plans and measure ROI of technology deployments.
- Operate and maintain drones, cameras, and sensor networks; troubleshoot hardware and connectivity issues.
- Monitor crop health via remote sensing, NDVI imagery, and environmental data; respond to anomalies in real time.
- Design and maintain data workflows, ensure data quality, and integrate with farm management software to create actionable dashboards.
- Provide hands-on training and ongoing support to farm crews on technology usage and safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards across all activities.
Qualification
- Bachelorâs degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, Engineering, or related field; or 3+ years of practical, tech-enabled farming experience.
- Hands-on experience with precision agriculture tools (drone platforms, soil moisture sensors, irrigation controllers) and field instrumentation.
- Strong data analysis skills (Excel, Python/R, SQL) and familiarity with visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
- Knowledge of GIS concepts and experience with QGIS or ArcGIS is preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management abilities; able to work independently in the field.
- Valid driverâs license and willingness to travel between fields; ability to lift 40 lbs and work in varying weather.
- Understanding of drone regulations and safe operating procedures; awareness of environmental and regulatory compliance.
