Harborview Institute for Advanced Studies invites applications for a full-time Research Scientist specializing in Academic Research. This role supports interdisciplinary studies, data collection, experimental design, and scholarly dissemination. The ideal candidate will have experience in quantitative methods, research governance, and collaboration with faculty across departments.

Responsibility
- Design, conduct, and analyze experiments across disciplines to advance ongoing research programs.
- Develop and implement robust statistical models, data pipelines, and reproducible research workflows.
- Collaborate with faculty and graduate students to refine research questions and methodologies.
- Prepare manuscripts, presentations, and grant proposals; contribute to scholarly publications.
- Manage datasets with attention to privacy, ethics, and compliance; ensure data quality and documentation.
- Mentor early-career researchers and provide guidance on research best practices.
- Present findings at internal seminars and external conferences; translate results for diverse audiences.
- Lead or co-lead grant-writing efforts and support external funding opportunities.
Qualification
- Master's degree or PhD in a relevant field (e.g., statistics, data science, psychology, neuroscience, or economics).
- Strong quantitative skills: statistics, experimental design, machine learning, data visualization.
- Proficiency with Python/R, SQL, and data analysis libraries; experience with reproducible research tools (e.g., Git, notebooks).
- Experience managing research data with privacy and compliance considerations (IRB knowledge helpful).
- Excellent written and verbal communication; proven track record of academic publications.
- Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and self-motivation in a fast-paced academic environment.
- Experience in grant writing or contributing to grant proposals is a plus.
