Responsibility
- Patrol campus grounds on foot and by post to deter unauthorized entry and ensure safety across all university facilities
- Monitor and control entry points, verify identification, issue passes, and enforce campus access policies
- Respond promptly to alarms, incidents, and emergencies; coordinate with security teams and local authorities as needed
- Conduct routine security checks of facilities, equipment, and safety systems; report hazards or maintenance needs
- Prepare clear, accurate incident and daily activity reports; maintain confidential records
- Provide directions and assistance to students, staff, and visitors; manage crowds during events and peak times
- Participate in safety drills, trainings, and ongoing professional development; uphold professional standards and ethical conduct
Qualification
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional security training or certification is a plus
- Valid security guard license or permit as required by local regulations
- Prior security experience, preferably in a university or large organization
- Good physical fitness with ability to stand for long periods, patrol on foot, and respond quickly to incidents
- Excellent observation, communication, and interpersonal skills; able to document and report clearly
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays; team-oriented attitude
