Join Lumina Frame Studio, a premier animation studio in Los Angeles, as a Senior 2D/3D Animator. You will shape character performance, drive timing and spacing, and collaborate across departments to deliver high-quality animation for film, series, and commercials. This role blends creative leadership with hands-on production work.

Responsibility
- Lead and deliver high-quality 2D and 3D animation for assigned scenes, ensuring consistency with style guides and storytelling goals.
- Collaborate with directors, layout, rigging, and lighting teams to plan and execute complex sequences.
- Mentor and review work of junior animators, providing actionable feedback and creative guidance.
- Maintain and refine animation pipelines, timelines, and asset organization to optimize production flow.
- Rigging and skinning support where needed to ensure optimal deformation and performance.
- Iterate quickly based on feedback, test performances, and deliver revisions on schedule.
- Contribute to character performance direction, timing, spacing, weight, and anticipation principles.
- Help establish and enforce industry-leading quality standards for all animation deliverables.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in animation, fine arts, or related field or equivalent professional experience.
- 7+ years as a professional animator, with a strong reel demonstrating range in 2D and 3D animation.
- Proficiency in Toon Boom Harmony and Autodesk Maya; strong knowledge of After Effects and Blender is a plus.
- Solid understanding of timing, spacing, acting, and character performance; ability to translate storyboards into compelling animation.
- Experience with rigging basics and collaboration with the rigging team; ability to troubleshoot deformation issues.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentorship skills; ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
- Portfolio/reel showcasing at least 2 long-form projects or episodes; experience on feature or high-end TV projects preferred.
- Legal eligibility to work in the United States; willingness to relocate to Los Angeles if necessary.
