NovaAI Labs, a premier AI technology company in the San Francisco Bay Area, is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to join our fast-growing team. You will lead end-to-end AI initiatives that power enterprise products, including research, data pipelines, model development, deployment, and monitoring. Based in San Francisco, you will collaborate with product, data, and platform teams to translate business problems into robust AI solutions, while upholding rigorous experimentation, governance, and bias mitigation standards.
Responsibility
- Lead end-to-end AI product development from problem framing to production deployment.
- Collaborate with product, data, and platform teams to translate business problems into scalable modeling solutions.
- Architect and implement end-to-end data pipelines and ML workflows ensuring reliability and observability.
- Drive rigorous experimentation, model evaluation, and iteration strategies to achieve business outcomes.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers, review code, and promote best practices in AI/ML.
- Ensure model governance, bias assessment, fairness considerations, and compliance in deployment.
- Deploy and monitor AI systems with robust observability, A/B testing, and performance metrics.
- Stay current with state-of-the-art research and identify opportunities for adoption.
Qualification
- MS or PhD in CS, ML, statistics, or related field; 5+ years of hands-on AI/ML experience.
- Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow); strong software engineering practices.
- Experience deploying ML models to production; MLOps tooling (Docker, Kubernetes, MLflow, Kubeflow) and CI/CD.
- Cloud experience (AWS or GCP; Azure is a plus); data processing with SQL/ETL tools.
- Solid foundation in math (linear algebra, probability, optimization) and experimental design.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills; proven ability to mentor others.
- Track record of influencing product strategy; publications/open-source contributions preferred.
