Atlas Mechanical Solutions is seeking a skilled Senior Automotive Mechanic to join our Houston shop. As a Senior Mechanic, you will diagnose complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, perform preventive maintenance, and lead other technicians on job sites. This role offers growth opportunities, competitive compensation, and a strong culture of craftsmanship.
Responsibility
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems on a variety of equipment and vehicles.
- Lead and mentor junior technicians, provide on the job training and knowledge transfer.
- Perform preventative maintenance and inspection routines to minimize unplanned downtime.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and live data to identify root causes and implement durable repairs.
- Order parts, manage inventory, and maintain accurate service documentation.
- Adhere to safety policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements in all tasks.
- Communicate technical findings and repair plans clearly to clients and team members.
Qualification
- 5+ years of experience as a mechanic in automotive, industrial, or heavy equipment settings.
- Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Experience with scan tools, multi-meters, pressure/flow testing, and pneumatic/hydraulic diagnostics.
- Proven ability to mentor others and lead small teams on challenging repairs.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Relevant certifications or ASE accreditation is preferred.
