Responsibility
- Oversee day-to-day greenhouse operations, including climate control, irrigation, pruning, and pest management.
- Lead plant propagation programs from seed and cuttings; optimize rooting rates and juvenile growth.
- Monitor crop health and diagnose diseases using integrated pest management (IPM) protocols.
- Manage irrigation systems, water reuse, fertigation schedules, and nutrient management.
- Collaborate with nursery, landscape, and sales teams to align production with demand forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations; maintain accurate records and SOPs.
- Supervise and train horticulture staff, interns, and seasonal workers; schedule and performance feedback.
- Plan and execute process improvements to increase yield, efficiency, and sustainability.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Agronomy, Plant Science, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on horticulture experience in greenhouse and outdoor production.
- Proven proficiency in propagation, pruning, fertigation, soil/soilless media, and IPM.
- Strong knowledge of irrigation systems (drip, micro-sprinkler) and water management.
- Experience with data-driven cultivation, Excel/Google Sheets, and cultivation software; ability to analyze trays, blocks, and yields.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions; physical stamina for lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Professional certifications (e.g., Pesticide Applicator) are a plus.
