Job description
We are seeking a Senior Statistician to join our growing analytics team in San Francisco. This is a hands-on role that combines statistical modeling, experimental design, and collaboration with product and engineering teams to drive data-driven decisions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering rigorous analyses that inform product strategy and business outcomes.
Responsibility
- Lead the design and analysis of experiments and A/B tests to optimize product features and user experience.
- Develop and validate predictive models for forecasting key metrics and informing strategy.
- Collaborate with data engineers to ensure data quality and reproducible analysis pipelines.
- Interpret results for non-technical stakeholders and present insights through dashboards and reports.
- Mentor junior statisticians and analysts, promoting best practices in statistical methodology.
- Ensure rigorous model validation, documentation and governance compliance.
- Translate business questions into statistical frameworks and actionable recommendations.
Qualification
- MS or PhD in Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in statistical modeling and data analysis.
- Proficiency in R and Python including pandas and statsmodels, plus SQL.
- Experience with experimental design, causal inference and A/B testing.
- Strong knowledge of Bayesian methods and machine learning is a plus.
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills for non-technical audiences.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
