Aurora Theatre Collective, a leading contemporary theatre company in New York City, invites applications for our Stage Manager position. This full-time role is ideal for experienced professionals who thrive on collaboration, precision, and the magic of live performance.
You will work closely with the Artistic Director, Production Team, and visiting guest directors to ensure safe, efficient, and artistically focused productions from load-in to strike. We value clear communication, proactive planning, and a calm presence under pressure.

Responsibility
- Coordinate all stage management activities for rehearsals and performances, including call times, cueing, and prop management.
- Create and distribute accurate call sheets, schedules, and production reports to cast and crew.
- Lead technical rehearsals, manage cueing system, and ensure seamless transitions between scenes.
- Maintain show files, safety documentation, and accommodations for cast and crew.
- Collaborate with Directors and Designers to implement artistic choices while maintaining production integrity.
- Oversee safety, time management, and compliance with union contracts and venue policies.
- Act as principal liaison with front-of-house and production teams to ensure a professional audience experience.
- Mentor and support junior stage management staff and interns.
Qualification
- Minimum 3-5 years of stage management experience in theatre productions, including previews and performances.
- Proficiency with cueing software (QLab, ETC Eos, etc.) and Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
- Experience in coordinating with directors, designers, and technical crews.
- Knowledge of safety protocols, union rules (if applicable), and venue policies.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and tech weeks.
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management and problem-solving abilities.
