CityImpact Outreach is seeking dedicated volunteers to support our community programs in New York City. This part-time, unpaid role offers hands-on experience in nonprofit outreach, event coordination, donor stewardship, and program delivery.
As a Volunteer Coordinator, you will help recruit, train, and support volunteers, coordinate event days, and assist with communications across diverse community groups. This is an excellent opportunity for students, recent graduates, or professionals looking to give back while expanding their skills.
Responsibility
- Recruit, screen, and onboard volunteers for assigned programs
- Coordinate volunteer schedules and shift coverage for events and services
- Support outreach campaigns, information sessions, and community fairs
- Assist with donor stewardship, data entry, and reporting
- Represent the organization at community events with professionalism and empathy
- Track engagement metrics and provide regular progress updates
- Collaborate with program managers to plan logistics and ensure a high-quality volunteer experience
Qualification
- Passion for community service and nonprofit work
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Experience in volunteer management or event planning is a plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace; basic data entry
- Reliable, organized, proactive, and collaborative
