VerdantLabs AgroTech is seeking a motivated Agricultural Field Technician to join our regional farming team in Davis, CA. This role blends hands-on field work with data-driven decision making to optimize crop health, yields, and resource use.
You will work closely with agronomists, researchers, and farm partners to implement precision agriculture practices and sustainable farming solutions.

Responsibility
- Monitor crop health and growth across multiple fields using manual scouting and sensor data.
- Implement precision irrigation and fertigation plans to optimize water and nutrient use.
- Collect soil and tissue samples, conduct basic analyses, and report findings to the agronomy team.
- Operate and calibrate field equipment and small-scale machinery safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate field logs, data entry, and geo-tagged observations in the farm management system.
- Assist with pest and weed management programs, including scouting and recommending control measures.
- Collaborate with research staff to support field trials and data collection protocols.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory guidelines on-site.
Qualification
- High school diploma; associates degree in agronomy, horticulture, or related field preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in field agriculture, horticulture, or farm operations.
- Experience with irrigation systems, soil sampling, and crop scouting.
- Ability to operate basic field equipment and tractors with proper training.
- Strong data entry and basic analytics; familiarity with farm management software.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and travel between sites as needed.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
