HarvestPro Farms is seeking a results-driven Agriculture Operations Specialist to join our innovative team in Salinas, California. This role blends agronomy expertise, data-driven decision making, and practical field operations to optimize crop yield, quality, and resource efficiency across our multi-acre operations.
In this role, you will collaborate with agronomists, irrigation technicians, and farm managers to implement precision agriculture practices, monitor irrigation and nutrient programs, oversee input applications, and ensure safety and environmental compliance. This position offers a clear path to leadership within a growing, technology-enabled farming operation.
Responsibility
- Plan, coordinate, and execute daily field activities across multiple crop cycles, ensuring timely planting, cultivation, pest monitoring, and harvest readiness.
- Design and implement precision agriculture strategies using soil sensors, drone imagery, and data analytics to optimize water use and input efficiency.
- Monitor and manage irrigation systems (drip and sprinkler) to achieve target soil moisture and reduce water waste.
- Analyze crop performance data and communicate actionable insights to farm operations and leadership.
- Oversee compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations; maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Coordinate with supply chain teams to ensure timely procurement of inputs and on-time harvest logistics.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, train field staff, and promote a culture of quality and accountability.
- Support sustainability efforts by tracking metrics related to soil health, nutrient use, and waste reduction.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Agriculture Science, or a related field; equivalent hands-on experience accepted.
- 3-5 years of field crop production experience in a commercial farming operation.
- Strong understanding of irrigation management, soil health, and nutrient planning.
- Proficiency with data analytics, farm management software, and GIS tools; experience with sensors, drones, or remote sensing is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions; valid driver's license and ability to transport equipment as needed.
