Join PrimeGrow Farms, a leading sustainable agriculture company, and play a pivotal role in our field operations in Salinas, CA. We’re seeking an Agriculture Technician to support crop health monitoring, irrigation optimization, and data-driven decision making to deliver premium produce while advancing sustainable farming practices.
As an Agriculture Technician, you will collaborate with agronomists, farm managers, and crew leads to execute planting, maintenance, and harvest activities. This role emphasizes hands-on field work, safety, and continuous learning in modern agronomy.
Responsibility
- Monitor crop health, vigor, and growth stages across multiple fields throughout the season.
- Assist with planting, transplanting, thinning, and harvesting to maintain schedules and optimize yields.
- Implement and monitor irrigation, fertigation, and drainage schedules for efficient water use and nutrient delivery.
- Collect and record agronomic data (soil moisture, pest scouting, climate data) and support pest management programs.
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot field equipment; ensure safety and compliance with farm protocols.
- Support inventory management, pesticide and fertilizer inventory, and standard operating procedures documentation.
- Coordinate with crew leads on labor needs and contribute to a positive, safety-focused work environment.
Qualification
- High school diploma or equivalent; two-year degree in agriculture, agronomy, or related field preferred.
- Basic understanding of crop production, irrigation systems, soil health, and pest management concepts.
- Experience operating basic farm equipment; comfortable performing outdoor, physical work in varying weather conditions.
- Strong data entry and record-keeping skills; familiarity with spreadsheets or farm management software is a plus.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities; safety-conscious and reliable.
- Valid driver’s license and a willingness to learn and adapt to new practices.
