Verdant Harvest AgriTech is seeking a results-driven Agricultural Specialist to lead field operations and crop management initiatives in the Salinas region. This full-time role blends agronomy expertise with hands-on execution on our assignment fields, ensuring high yields and sustainable farming practices.
As an Agronomist on our team, you will translate agronomic insights into practical field actions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help scale our data-driven farming approach.

Responsibility
- Lead day-to-day field operations, crop scouting, and data collection to support decision-making.
- Develop and implement agronomic plans for pest management, disease prevention, and nutrient management.
- Coordinate irrigation scheduling and water-use efficiency across multiple blocks.
- Analyze yield data and environmental metrics to drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Breeding, R&D, and supply chain teams to translate field insights into practice.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and farming standards (including organic practices where required).
- Train and mentor farm staff and seasonal workers on best practices and equipment operation.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and farm maps using GIS and farm management software.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agricultural Science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of field agronomy or farm operations experience, preferably in large-scale operations in California.
- Strong knowledge of integrated pest management, nutrient management, irrigation scheduling, and crop physiology.
- Proficiency with farm management software, GIS, data analysis (Excel, Tableau or similar).
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills; able to work in field conditions and adapt to changing schedules.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, operate standard farm equipment, and hold a valid driver’s license.
