Velocity Auto Works, a premier auto repair shop in Los Angeles, is seeking a skilled Automotive Mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain a diverse fleet of vehicles. You will work with modern diagnostic tools, hands-on equipment, and a team dedicated to quality, safety, and exceptional customer service.

In this role, you’ll leverage your mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills to deliver reliable, on-time repairs while maintaining meticulous records and communicating clearly with teammates and service advisors.

Responsibility

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems using diagnostic tools and manual inspection.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and safety checks to ensure optimal vehicle reliability.
  • Interpret OEM service manuals, bulletins, and schematics; document findings and recommendations.
  • Repair or replace components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, and exhaust systems.
  • Road-test vehicles to verify repairs and ensure safe, proper operation post-service.
  • Collaborate with service advisors to provide accurate estimates, timelines, and communicate repair results to customers.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace and follow strict safety protocols.

Qualification

  • 3+ years of hands-on automotive repair experience; ASE certification preferred.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and repairing gasoline/diesel engines, transmissions, electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience with diagnostic tools (OBD-II scanners, multimeters, oscilloscopes) and modern workshop equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills; able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record; ability to operate a variety of vehicles.
  • Ability to read and interpret OEM manuals and service bulletins; willingness to pursue ongoing training.
