Job description

Fortis Global Risk is seeking a strategic Director of Crisis Management to lead enterprise‑scale crisis planning and incident response. You will shape the resilience program, partner with executives, and ensure rapid containment and clear communications during disruptions.

In this role, you will collaborate cross‑functionally with Risk, IT, Operations, Legal, and Communications to build robust playbooks, establish a proactive crisis mindset, and elevate the organization’s ability to protect people, assets, and reputation.

Responsibility

  • Lead development and execution of enterprise crisis management strategy, governance, and playbooks.
  • Direct the Crisis Command Center during incidents, coordinating with executives, operations, IT, and communications.
  • Conduct regular tabletop exercises, live drills, and post‑incident reviews to close gaps and drive improvements.
  • Coordinate crisis communications with PR, legal, and senior leadership; manage stakeholder messaging and media guidance.
  • Perform risk assessments, business impact analyses, and threat intelligence integration into response plans.
  • Oversee business continuity and IT disaster recovery alignment with crisis plans.
  • Advise on regulatory and contractual obligations related to crisis readiness and reporting.
  • Develop training programs and coach senior leaders on crisis leadership and decision‑making under pressure.

Qualification

  • Minimum 8–12 years in crisis management, business continuity, or emergency response.
  • Bachelor’s degree; MBA or Master’s in Security, Risk, or Emergency Management preferred.
  • Proven experience leading cross‑functional response efforts at scale (global or national).
  • Strong knowledge of incident command systems, crisis communications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and executive presence.
  • Certified Crisis Manager (CCM), BCM/ISOC 22301, or equivalent credentials preferred.
  • Ability to operate under high pressure with tight timelines and travel up to 25%.
  • Strategic thinker with hands‑on execution capability and change management skills.
