Responsibility
- Supervise daily farm operations (planting, irrigation, fertilization, pest control, harvesting) to meet production targets.
- Coordinate with agronomy and extension teams to implement crop production plans.
- Oversee maintenance of farming equipment, facilities, and irrigation infrastructure.
- Manage a team of farm workers, assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure safety procedures are followed.
- Monitor inventory, procurement of inputs, and budget adherence for farm activities.
- Ensure compliance with government policies, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of production, labor, weather, and yields to inform planning and reporting.
- Provide training and mentorship to staff to improve productivity and professional development.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Rural Development, or a related field, or proven equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2-3 years of farm management or supervisory experience in agricultural settings.
- Strong knowledge of crop production, irrigation systems, pest and disease management, and soil health.
- Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to manage diverse teams.
- Basic budgeting, inventory control, and reporting skills; proficiency with MS Office.
- Understanding of government work environments and regulatory compliance is a plus.
- Physical ability to perform fieldwork and inspections as needed.
- Valid driver's license or ability to travel to farm sites as required.
