Responsibility

  • Lead planning and execution of field operations across designated forest stands, ensuring timeliness and safety.
  • Manage field teams, allocate resources, and ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement operational plans, timber inventory, and harvest schedules using GIS and data analytics.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (loggers, contractors, landowners) to align objectives and mitigate environmental impact.
  • Monitor progress, track performance metrics, and report to senior management with actionable insights.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, wildlife protection, and working with Indigenous communities as applicable.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of field forestry experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of silviculture, timber harvesting methods, and forest inventory practices.
  • Proficient in GIS (ArcGIS) and field data collection; familiarity with GPS devices.
  • Excellent safety leadership, risk assessment, and compliance with provincial and federal regulations.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills; ability to coordinate across cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work in mountainous terrain and varying weather conditions; valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
