Responsibility
- Lead and manage multiple forestry projects from scope to completion, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
- Plan, supervise, and conduct field surveys, timber cruising, plot measurements, and habitat assessments.
- Oversee data collection, GIS analysis, mapping, and reporting to support decision-making.
- Coordinate with landowners, agencies, contractors, and stakeholders; communicate project status and risks clearly.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, safety standards, and best management practices.
- Monitor silvicultural treatments, regeneration, and restoration outcomes; adapt plans as needed.
- Prepare technical reports, grant proposals, and client briefs; translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Train and mentor junior staff, interns, and field crews to promote best practices in forestry operations.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 2+ years of professional forestry or natural resources field experience; project coordination preferred.
- Proficiency with GIS (ArcGIS or QGIS), GPS data collection, and data management.
- Experience with timber cruising, silviculture, stand examination, and habitat assessment.
- Strong written and verbal communication; ability to prepare clear reports and present findings to diverse audiences.
- Valid driver's license; ability to travel to field sites and work in varying weather conditions.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations, BMPs, and SAF-related certifications is a plus.
- Collaborative team player with problem-solving skills and a commitment to safety and ethics.
