Job description
We are seeking a highly motivated Forestry Project Manager to lead sustainability-driven forest management initiatives in the Vancouver area. You will oversee field operations, data collection, budgeting, and stakeholder coordination to deliver high-impact projects that balance timber production with habitat protection.

Responsibility
- Lead forestry project planning and execution, ensuring sustainability and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee field operations, inventory management, timber appraisal, and reforestation activities.
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and procurement processes.
- Coordinate with government agencies, industry partners, Indigenous communities, and stakeholders.
- Monitor environmental impact, conduct risk assessments, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Collect, analyze, and report field data using GIS and timber metrics.
- Mentor field crews, supervise contractors, and ensure adherence to safety standards.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of forestry project management experience in a commercial or public sector setting.
- Strong knowledge of forest management, silviculture, timber harvesting, and certification standards (FSC/CSA).
- Proficiency with GIS (ArcGIS/QGIS), data collection apps, and reporting tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
- Project management certification (PMP) or demonstrated program management experience.
- Travel readiness to remote field sites; valid driver's license; ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities and knowledge of consultation processes and cultural sensitivity.
