Join Evergreen Growth Labs, a leader in sustainable horticulture. We are seeking a results-driven Horticulture Operations Manager to lead cultivation programs, optimize greenhouse performance, and elevate plant quality.
In this role, you will oversee day-to-day operations, guide horticulture technicians, and collaborate with R&D to implement data-driven growing strategies that boost yields while reducing resource use.
Responsibility
- Oversee day-to-day greenhouse and propagation operations, ensuring optimal environmental controls, pruning schedules, and planting cycles.
- Develop and execute cultivation plans to maximize yield, uniformity, and product quality across multiple crops.
- Manage scheduling, training, and performance of horticulture staff; foster a culture of safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor key performance indicators such as yield per square meter, resource use efficiency, pest and disease incidence, and staff productivity; report insights to leadership.
- Collaborate with R&D and supply chain teams to source high-quality plant stock, substrates, nutrients, and modulators; manage vendor relationships and inventory.
- Maintain compliance with local agricultural regulations and safety standards; ensure meticulous recordkeeping and traceability.
- Optimize water management and irrigation systems including fertigation programs; leverage data analytics to reduce waste and environmental impact.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in horticulture, agronomy, plant science, or a closely related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in horticulture or greenhouse cultivation with demonstrated leadership responsibilities.
- Hands-on expertise in controlled environment agriculture, climate control systems, irrigation, fertigation, and fertigation scheduling.
- Strong knowledge of integrated pest management and disease prevention strategies.
- Proficiency with greenhouse management software, data-collection tools, and ERP systems; ability to translate data into actionable cultivation decisions.
- Excellent communication, team leadership, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to work on-site in Seattle, with flexibility for occasional travel as needed.
