HSE Confined Space Specialist – Central Java
Join PT Golden Victory Manufacturies as an HSE Confined Space Specialist and play a pivotal role in safeguarding personnel and production operations at our Central Java facilities. As the HSE Confined Space professional, you will lead safety initiatives for all activities involving confined spaces, ensuring full regulatory compliance and robust hazard controls across mining, processing, and related operations. You will collaborate with operations, maintenance, and safety teams to protect workers and optimize performance while minimizing risk to people and production.
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented safety professional who can assess risks, implement controls, and promote a strong safety culture. The ideal candidate will bring knowledge of permit-to-work systems, emergency response planning, atmospheric testing, and the use of appropriate PPE and gas detectors.
Key responsibilities of this role include conducting confined space risk assessments, managing permit-to-work and entry procedures, and developing effective rescue plans. You will perform pre-entry hazard analyses, monitor ventilation and atmospheric conditions, and ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE and equipment.

Responsibility
- Lead the confined space safety program, including risk assessments, permit-to-work management, entry permits, and rescue planning.
- Perform pre-entry hazard analysis and atmospheric testing; ensure continuous gas monitoring and proper ventilation where required.
- Monitor and enforce safe entry/exit procedures, authorize work in confined spaces, and coordinate emergency response drills.
- Inspect, maintain, and verify readiness of PPE, lighting, ventilation equipment, gas detectors, and other safety tools.
- Conduct safety observations, incident investigations, and root-cause analyses; track corrective actions and prevent recurrence.
- Provide toolbox talks, safety training, and onboarding for new hires and contractors; promote near-miss reporting and proactive hazard identification.
- Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and safety teams to improve processes, reduce risk, and ensure compliance with local regulations and international standards.
Qualification
- Diploma or higher education in safety, engineering, industrial hygiene, or a related field; technical certifications are a plus.
- 2+ years of relevant HSE experience in mining or heavy industry is preferred.
- Certified in Confined Space entry and/or HSE management; PTW training is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of permit-to-work systems, risk assessment methodologies, and emergency response planning.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and the ability to influence safety practices across shifts.
- Proficiency in Indonesian; intermediate English is acceptable; computer literacy (MS Office) required.
- Physically fit to perform confined space tasks and wear PPE for extended periods; willingness to work in a Safety-focused environment.
