Responsibility
- Install, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioners, furnaces, heat pumps, ventilation, and controls.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and control issues using diagnostic tools; perform safe, code-compliant repairs.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and load calculations; select appropriate parts and order replacements as needed.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
- Provide clear, accurate explanations to customers about issues and recommended solutions, including cost estimates.
- Ensure compliance with local codes, safety standards, and manufacturer specifications; document work in service software.
- Respond to emergency service requests and participate in on-call rotation as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized job site and proper tool/machine documentation.
Qualification
- EPA Section 608 Certification (or state-required refrigerant handling certification)
- HVAC journeyman license or equivalent (2+ years of installation/repair experience)
- Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, refrigeration principles, and control systems
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and manufacturer manuals
- Experience with diagnostic tools (digital multimeters, refrigerant gauges, pressure/temperature testers)
- Valid driver’s license with clean record; ability to pass background check and drug screen
- Excellent customer service, communication, and teamwork skills
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces; commitment to safety
