Global Lexicon Solutions is seeking a skilled Interpretation Specialist to join our premium language services team in Singapore. You will deliver high-caliber consecutive and simultaneous interpretation for multinational clients across conferences, meetings, and high-stakes negotiations. This role blends linguistic excellence with cultural fluency, precise terminology management, and professional client engagement.
As a key member of our interpretation practice, you will work with top-tier event organizers, corporate teams, and governmental agencies, ensuring accurate and culturally sensitive communication in fast-paced environments.
Responsibility
- Provide accurate consecutive and simultaneous interpretation for meetings, conferences, webinars, and on-site events across multiple industries.
- Prepare and maintain industry-specific glossaries, terminology databases, and memory aids to ensure consistent terminology usage.
- Sight-translate documents when required and participate in pre-event briefings with clients and organizers.
- Operate interpretation equipment, manage booth logistics, and coordinate with technicians during live sessions.
- Ensure confidentiality, neutrality, and ethical standards in all assignments, including handling sensitive information.
- Coach and brief speakers on language and cultural nuances to optimize audience comprehension.
- Collaborate with project managers to meet deadlines, quality metrics, and client satisfaction targets.
- Travel to client sites or deliver remote interpretation support as needed, embracing flexible schedules.
Qualification
- Native or near-native English proficiency with strong command of at least two other languages (Mandarin, Spanish, French, Arabic, or equivalent).
- Minimum 3-5 years of professional interpretation experience in conferences, corporate events, or governmental settings.
- AIIC-certified interpreter or equivalent credential preferred; demonstrated track record of high-stakes interpreting.
- Experience with simultaneous interpretation booth setup, equipment, and troubleshooting in live settings.
- Excellent memory, note-taking, and terminology management skills; ability to build and maintain glossaries rapidly.
- Strong cultural competence, adaptability, and client-facing communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Interpretation, Linguistics, or related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- Willingness to travel as required and maintain flexible scheduling.
