Join Global Lexicon Interpretation, a premium language services firm, as a Senior Conference Interpreter based in London. You will champion high-stakes interpretation at international conferences, corporate events, and diplomatic meetings, delivering accurate and culturally sensitive outcomes. This role blends elite linguistic skill with project coordination, requiring real-time problem-solving and professional booth presence. Remote and hybrid opportunities available for select assignments.
We value interpreters who are fluent in English and at least two additional languages, with extensive experience in simultaneous and consecutive modes, strong terminology management, and familiarity with interpretation equipment and remote platforms.
Responsibility
- Provide real-time interpretation for conferences, meetings, and remote events in English plus additional languages
- Prepare glossaries, subject matter terminology, and memory cues for accurate delivery
- Operate interpreting equipment and assist with setup of interpretation booths and remote platforms
- Coordinate with event organizers, speakers, and technical staff to ensure smooth communication
- Maintain booth etiquette, pacing, and audience engagement during sessions
- Deliver accurate consecutive interpretation during bilateral meetings and small-group sessions
- Support post-event debriefs and quality assurance for continuous improvement
- Mentor junior interpreters and contribute to standard operating procedures
Qualification
- Minimum 5 years of professional interpreting experience in conferences or similar settings
- Fluency in English plus two or more languages (examples include French, Spanish, German, Arabic, Mandarin)
- Proficient in simultaneous and consecutive interpreting techniques
- Experience with interpretation equipment and remote interpreting platforms
- Strong memory, note-taking skills, and cultural awareness under pressure
- Terminology research and management capabilities
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in interpretation or languages; membership or certification in a recognized language services association preferred
- Eligibility to work in the United Kingdom or valid visa/work authorization
