As a critical member of our geomatics group, you’ll lead field operations, manage data quality, and contribute to project success from kickoff to final deliverables.
Responsibility
- Conduct boundary, ALTA/ACSM, topographic, and control surveys in the field and office to support project deliverables.
- Operate GNSS/RTK systems, robotic total stations, data collectors, and field software; collect, verify, and adjust field data for accuracy.
- Prepare survey plats, legal descriptions, subdivision layouts, and stake-out data for construction teams.
- Create and maintain project control networks; ensure data integrity and precise line/grade accuracy.
- Produce high-quality drawings and plats using AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and Carlson software; deliverables ready for permitting and construction.
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, and clients; communicate progress, risks, and schedule impacts.
- Enforce safety protocols; supervise junior staff and provide mentorship and training.
- Support project management by tracking field time, equipment usage, and budget impact; contribute to proposals.
Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field; or equivalent field experience.
- Colorado Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
- 3+ years of professional surveying experience, including boundary, ALTA/ACSM, and topographic surveys.
- Proficiency with GNSS/RTK, total stations, data collectors, and field software; familiarity with Trimble and Leica hardware.
- Strong CAD skills with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation; experience producing plats, maps, and legal descriptions.
- Knowledge of Colorado surveying standards, procedures, and datum; familiarity with Microsoft Office and GIS.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites; occasional overnight travel.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities; ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
