BluePeak Surveying & Geomatics is a leading provider of surveying, mapping, and civil geomatics services. We are seeking a Senior Geomatics Surveyor to lead field surveys, oversee data collection, and coordinate with engineers and project managers on complex infrastructure projects. This is a hands-on, leadership role that blends fieldwork with high-precision data processing, GIS integration, and project delivery.
In this role you will mentor junior crew, ensure QA/QC on field data, and drive safety and compliance on-site. The ideal candidate has a strong background in boundary, topographic, and control surveys, with proficiency in total stations, RTK/PPK GNSS, and CAD/GIS platforms.
Responsibility
- Lead and supervise land surveying field crews on diverse projects, ensuring safety and quality standards.
- Plan survey strategies, coordinate with engineers, architects, and PMs to define deliverables and timelines.
- Perform boundary, topographic, construction stakeout, and control surveys using total stations, GNSS, and scanning equipment.
- Process field data, perform QA/QC checks, and generate accurate maps, plats, and as-built drawings.
- Manage project documentation, data management, and coordinate with GIS teams for seamless integration.
- Mentor and training for junior staff; provide performance feedback and coaching.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety protocols, and quality standards.
- Contribute to business development by supporting bids and client presentations.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
- Professional Licensed Surveyor (LS) or ability to obtain licensure within 12 months.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive surveying experience in construction and civil projects.
- Proficiency with total stations, GNSS (RTK/PPK), data collection software, and CAD/GIS (AutoCAD Civil 3D, ArcGIS).
- Strong knowledge of boundary, control, as-built, and topo surveys; experience with laser scanning is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; proven leadership abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing field conditions.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required; valid driver's license and clean driving record.
