PrairieHorizon Livestock Group is seeking a hands-on Livestock Farm Manager who can oversee day-to-day operations with a focus on animal welfare, biosecurity, and sustainable production. This full-time role combines leadership, hands-on farming, and data-driven decision making in a modern pasture and barn system in the Des Moines region.

As a key member of our operations, you will manage cattle and/or sheep herds, monitor feed, health, and breeding, coordinate with veterinarians, and ensure compliance with animal welfare standards. Responsibility

  • Oversee daily farm operations for cattle and/or sheep, including feeding, breeding, and calving/lambing cycles.
  • Develop and implement feeding plans and rations aligned with animal health and production goals.
  • Lead a small team of farm workers, scheduling shifts, training, and performance feedback.
  • Monitor animal welfare, biosecurity protocols, and environmental sustainability measures.

Qualification
