As the Farm Manager, you will partner with veterinarians and suppliers to optimize herd health, nutrition, and overall productivity while ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare and environmental stewardship.
What you will do
- Lead day-to-day farm operations for cattle, poultry, and small ruminants; manage feeding, housing, breeding cycles, and welfare programs.
- Direct a small team, schedule shifts, train staff, and enforce safety and biosecurity protocols.
- Monitor herd health, coordinate vaccinations, health checks, and record keeping; respond rapidly to health concerns.
- Optimize feed efficiency, manage feed inventory, and coordinate with suppliers to control costs.
- Ensure compliance with animal welfare, environmental, and food safety regulations; maintain accurate documentation.
- Oversee equipment maintenance, water systems, fencing, and facility maintenance; plan capital improvements.
- Track performance metrics, budgets, and production planning; drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibility

- Oversee equipment maintenance, water systems, fencing, and facility upgrades.
- Analyze production data, manage budgets, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualification
- 3+ years in livestock farming management or equivalent leadership experience on a commercial operation.
- Strong knowledge of animal welfare, nutrition, health monitoring, and biosecurity.
- Experience with vaccination programs, veterinary coordination, and health record keeping.
- Proven leadership and team management skills; ability to train and motivate staff.
- Financial acumen with budgeting, cost control, and resource planning.
- Proficiency with farm management software or digital record-keeping; strong data literacy.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate farm equipment; flexibility to work extended hours during peak seasons.
