As our Livestock Farm Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day health and welfare of livestock, pasture management, and safety. You’ll partner with veterinarians and feed suppliers to optimize nutrition and health programs, while ensuring humane handling and environmentally responsible practices.
Responsibility
- Oversee daily livestock care and welfare for cattle and sheep, ensuring proper feeding, water access, conditioning, and comfort.
- Develop and execute feeding plans, nutrition tracking, and pasture rotation to optimize growth and production.
- Monitor animal health, coordinate vaccinations and treatments with veterinarians, and maintain comprehensive health records.
- Lead farm operations including equipment maintenance, facility upkeep, fencing, and safety protocols.
- Manage biosecurity, waste management, and environmental compliance on site.
- Hire, train, and supervise farm workers; assign tasks, monitor performance, and promote a culture of safety and accountability.
- Maintain accurate production and inventory records, generate regular reports, and drive data-driven improvements.
Qualification
- Minimum 2-4 years of livestock farming experience, with hands-on cattle and sheep husbandry.
- Strong knowledge of animal health, nutrition, welfare standards, and vaccination programs.
- Proven ability to plan and monitor feeding programs, pasture management, and water systems.
- Experience operating and maintaining farm equipment (tractors, feed wagons, bale handlers) and performing basic repairs.
- Solid understanding of biosecurity, waste management, and environmental stewardship.
- Excellent record-keeping, report generation, and data analysis skills.
- Leadership and team management abilities; ability to train and supervise staff.
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate farm vehicles and machinery as needed.
