Responsibility
- Oversee day-to-day farm operations including feeding, watering, housing, breeding, and calving/litter management.
- Monitor herd health, administer vaccinations, coordinate veterinary care, and maintain accurate health records.
- Plan and execute nutrition strategies with seasonal rations and forage management to optimize growth and productivity.
- Manage breeding programs, record-keeping, and genetics tracking to meet production targets.
- Supervise farm staff, schedule shifts, and ensure safety and compliance with industry standards.
- Maintain equipment and facilities, oversee biosecurity, waste management, and manure handling plans.
- Implement data-driven farming practices using basic farm software and record systems.
- Collaborate with procurement and sales teams to forecast needs and improve profitability.
Qualification
- 3+ years of livestock farming or farm management experience, preferably with cattle or swine.
- Strong knowledge of animal husbandry, welfare, nutrition, and disease prevention.
- Experience with breeding programs, calf/heifer management, and lactation cycles.
- Ability to operate and maintain farm equipment and basic maintenance skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building abilities.
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks and willingness to live within reasonable commute considerations.
- Valid driver's license; forklift certification a plus.
- Basic computer literacy and record-keeping skills; familiarity with farm management software.
