Responsibility
- Provide daily care for cattle and small ruminants, including feeding, water provisioning, monitoring health, and maintaining clean living spaces.
- Assist with routine milking or hand milking as required, along with record-keeping of milk yield and animal health.
- Perform pasture rotation, fencing maintenance, and facility sanitation to prevent disease and ensure animal comfort.
- Operate farm machinery and irrigation equipment following safety protocols; perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Assist with veterinary tasks including injections, parasite control, and timely reporting of health concerns to the supervisor.
- Monitor and document livestock behavior, nutrition, and welfare, ensuring compliance with farm policies and safety standards.
- Support seasonal tasks such as birthing assistance, weaning, and transportation of animals between facilities.
Qualification
- Proven interest or prior experience in livestock farming; training programs welcome.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive outdoor tasks in varying weather.
- Effective communication, reliability, and a team-oriented mindset.
- Basic animal care knowledge and willingness to learn best practices in welfare and biosecurity.
- Ability to follow SOPs, safety protocols, and regulatory guidelines.
- Reliable transportation to the farm and flexible schedule, including weekends as needed.
- Willingness to perform manual labor and operate farm equipment after proper instruction.
