Join Crestline Precision Manufacturing, a fast-growing leader in precision components for automotive and industrial sectors. We are seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer to optimize processes, improve yield, and drive safety and quality across our production floor in Chicago, IL.

In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, implement lean initiatives, and lead capacity planning and line redesigns. This is a high-visibility opportunity to shape operations in a modern, data-driven environment.

Responsibility

  • Lead process improvements using lean methodologies (5S, Kaizen) to reduce waste and cycle times.
  • Analyze manufacturing data to drive capacity planning, line balancing, and flow optimization.
  • Develop and implement process specifications, work instructions, and control plans.
  • Lead new product introductions (NPIs) and line start-ups with cross-functional teams.
  • Manage root-cause problem solving for quality issues using tools like 8D, DMAIC.
  • Partner with maintenance and automation teams on equipment reliability and preventive maintenance.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and QA to ensure incoming material quality and vendor controls.
  • Mentor and train floor staff on standard work and safety protocols.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a high-volume operation.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methods; Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.
  • Experience with ERP/MES systems, data analytics, and problem-solving tools.
  • Familiarity with CNC, PLCs, automation, and quality control methodologies.
  • Excellent communication, cross-functional collaboration, and project management skills.
  • Safety-conscious mindset with track record of improving workplace safety.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
