Pacific Heritage Museum is seeking a results oriented Museum Operations Manager to lead the day to day operations, ensuring exceptional visitor experiences while safeguarding our collections. This role blends operational leadership, collection stewardship, and program development within a dynamic cultural organization.
As the Museum Operations Manager, you will oversee facilities, security, accessibility, registrations, and administrative functions. You will collaborate with curatorial, education, development, and external partners to plan and execute exhibitions, programs, and community engagement initiatives.
Responsibility
- Oversee daily museum operations, facilities, security, visitor services, and accessibility to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all guests.
- Manage annual operating budgets, financial controls, procurement, and vendor contracts to optimize resources.
- Lead collections stewardship, cataloging readiness, and exhibition installation coordination in collaboration with curatorial staff.
- Develop and implement strategic program planning for exhibitions, interpretive content, and community outreach.
- Ensure compliance with professional standards, safety regulations, and accreditation requirements.
- Direct human resources activities including recruitment, training, supervision, and performance management of staff and volunteers.
- Foster partnerships with donors, educational institutions, and community organizations to support museum initiatives.
- Monitor visitor experience metrics and lead continuous improvements to access, interpretation, and inclusivity.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree in Museum Studies, History, Public Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in museum operations, administration, or related setting.
- Proven budgeting, procurement, and vendor negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with collection management processes and relevant systems; experience with digitization or archiving is a plus.
- Strong project management and cross functional team leadership abilities.
- Excellent communication, fundraising collaboration, and donor relations skills.
