Responsibility
- Oversee daily museum operations including visitor services, security, facilities maintenance, and risk management to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
- Lead a diverse team of operations, guest services, and facilities staff; set performance expectations and support professional development.
- Plan and manage annual budgets, procurement, and vendor contracts while optimizing resources and reducing costs.
- Coordinate collections handling, storage, and exhibition logistics in collaboration with curatorial staff to ensure preservation standards.
- Develop and implement visitor programming, accessibility initiatives, and community engagement to expand audience reach.
- Ensure compliance with museum standards, health and safety regulations, and data protection requirements across all operations.
- Lead risk assessment, emergency response planning, and incident reporting to maintain a secure facility.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to drive strategic initiatives and donor/funder reporting for sustainability.
Qualification
- Bachelorās degree in Museum Studies, Arts Administration, Business, or related field; masterās preferred.
- 5+ years of leadership experience in museum operations or cultural institution management.
- Proven track record in budgeting, facilities management, and vendor negotiation.
- Strong knowledge of collections handling standards, preservation, and risk management.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration with curators, educators, and partners.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement inclusive programs and accessibility initiatives.
- Proficiency with museum management software, CRM, and data reporting; familiarity with emergency planning.
