Job description

We are seeking an experienced Outpatient Services Department Head to lead and optimize our outpatient operations in Balikpapan. In this strategic leadership role, you will design, implement, and steward policies that shape how care is delivered to patients, while ensuring exceptional quality and safety standards across the department. You will collaborate with medical leaders and administrative teams to drive operational excellence, improve patient experiences, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

As the Outpatient Services Department Head, you will be responsible for setting the direction of clinical operations, optimizing patient flow, managing staffing, and maintaining the highest standards of care. You will oversee the development of SOPs, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and partner with senior leadership to align outpatient services with the hospital's mission and financial goals. Responsibility

  • Monitor clinical quality metrics, patient safety, and patient outcomes; drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage department budget, resources, vendor relationships, and procurement for outpatient services.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and administrative teams to optimize scheduling, referrals, and access to care.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance, accreditation readiness, data privacy, and adherence to applicable laws and guidelines.
  • Drive patient satisfaction by elevating service standards, reducing wait times, and implementing patient feedback programs.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Medicine, Healthcare Administration, or a related field; Master's preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in healthcare, with at least 3 years in outpatient settings.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and change-management capabilities.
  • Solid knowledge of healthcare regulations, quality standards, patient safety, and accreditation processes.
  • Experience with budgeting, financial planning, and data-driven decision making.
  • Proficiency with healthcare information systems, scheduling tools, and basic data analytics.
  • Fluent in Indonesian; English proficiency is a plus; willingness to work in Balikpapan.
