Job description

BlueHorizon Energy Solutions is expanding its engineering team and seeking a results-driven Petroleum Engineer to join our onshore operations in Houston, TX. This role focuses on drilling, production, and reservoir optimization across a mix of conventional and unconventional assets.

As a Petroleum Engineer, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design well trajectories, optimize completions, and enhance reservoir performance while adhering to HSE standards and project budgets.

Responsibility

  • Lead well design and optimization, including casing, cementing, and completion strategies to maximize production and safety.
  • Perform reservoir characterization, production forecasting, and economic analysis using industry-standard simulators.
  • Collaborate with drilling, completions, reservoir, and production teams to plan and execute field development plans.
  • Conduct data analytics, pressure transient tests, and well test interpretation to improve field performance.
  • Develop and review project scopes, budgets, and risk assessments; ensure compliance with HSE and regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across projects.
  • Support technical proposals, client engagements, and risk assessments in commercial contexts.

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering; master's preferred; PE license or ability to obtain within 2 years.
  • 5+ years of experience in onshore oil and gas projects; experience with drilling, completion, reservoir management.
  • Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (Eclipse, CMG, Nexus) and well performance analysis.
  • Strong understanding of HSE, regulatory compliance, and project risk management.
  • Demonstrated communication, teamwork, and leadership skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to relocate to Houston or reside in the area; travel up to 15%.
  • Data-driven mindset with strong problem-solving and modeling skills.
