Join the Cambridge Center for Philosophy as a full-time Philosophy Lecturer / Research Fellow with a focus on ethics and political philosophy. You will help shape the intellectual trajectory of our undergraduate programs, supervise research, and contribute to interdisciplinary collaborations with law, political science, and cognitive science. This role blends rigorous scholarship with mentorship and public engagement.
We seek a thoughtful educator and productive researcher who can translate complex ideas into accessible lectures and seminars for diverse audiences and publish in peer reviewed venues.
Responsibility
- Lead undergraduate and graduate seminars in ethics, political philosophy, and applied ethics.
- Develop and update syllabi, course materials, and assessment methods aligned with accreditation standards.
- Supervise research projects and theses, providing guidance and feedback to students.
- Design and deliver public-facing talks, workshops, and interdisciplinary collaborations.
- Publish peer-reviewed articles and contribute to grant proposals.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to integrate philosophy into science, law, and public policy.
- Participate in committee work, program development, and academic advising.
- Support department recruitment and mentorship initiatives to foster an inclusive learning community.
Qualification
- PhD in Philosophy or related field with demonstrated expertise in ethics or political philosophy.
- Strong track record of scholarly publication and conference presentations.
- Experience teaching philosophy at undergraduate and graduate levels; evidence of effective teaching methods.
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex ideas clearly to varied audiences.
- Experience supervising student research and mentoring diverse learners.
- Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and with external partners.

- Demonstrated initiative in curriculum development and program assessment.
